Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)
The PTO is made up of parents, teachers, students, and community members. The mission of the Morton West PTO is:
• To support and speak on behalf of our students at school, in our community, and before the government and other organizations that make decisions affecting children;
• To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children;
• To encourage parental Involvement at Morton West;
• To encourage cooperation between parents and teachers to improve the education and achievement of our students; and to promote Morton West and its achievements in our community.
Your donation to the PTO can provide our students with special programs at school, as well as sponsorship of field trips, extracurricular activities, and student recognition which improves the lives of our students and promotes better quality of education through parental involvement. The PTO provides information regarding legislative activities to inform parents and staff members about the current state of education in Illinois. As a member, you can voice your ideas and concerns at our monthly meetings and promote ways to further increase parental involvement. The Pto rewards a yearly scholarship.
Joining the PTO is a great benefit to bur school and community. Remember: When the PTO gets involved, our students benefit. When our parents and teachers work together, Morton West High School benefits the most! Many of our staff is already actively involved, will you?
Membership is only $5.00 per person per year. Please contact the principal's office for more information. Thank you for your support!
