Mrs. Lauren Keppler

I am honored to work with such a wonderful community at Morton East High School to promote bilingualism and biliteracy for all students. I began my career as a Bilingual and English as a Second Language Teacher, working with students from all language backgrounds and walks of life, and I continue to do that here at Morton East.  In my capacity as Biliteracy Coach I enjoy working with teachers to take advantage of the language and cultural assets that students bring to our classrooms and with students to develop their biliteracy skills. The Seal of Biliteracy program continues to grow with every passing year.  I’m excited to be a part of the growing biliteracy initiatives at JS Morton District 201!

Elizabeth Reyes

I have been at Morton West since 2012 where I was teaching Math in the Freshmen Academy. Morton has been part of my life since growing up in the Cicero/Berwyn area. As a Morton East alum, I know this community and the students it serves. As the Biliteracy Coach, I am excited to work with teachers in a way where we incorporate EL strategies that would challenge our students and help them succeed, build a sense of community in our school that involves student’s cultures, and promote post-secondary success with the Seal of Biliteracy.

Mr. Alberto Jaquez

¡Bienvenidos! As the 2019 school year begins, I begin my new journey as the Freshman Center’s Biliteracy Coach. For the last 10 years, I taught Bilingual World History and I witnessed the strengths and talents that our community truly brings. In this 11th year, I am honored and privileged to serve in this new capacity. I am determined to continue to raise the bar for our students and I am excited to collaborate with teachers as our School for Biliteracy grows. As a Morton East Alum, I am proud to serve my hometown. Once a Mustang, Always a Mustang. Estoy aquí para servirles. #MortonPride #OrgulloMorton
