Morton 201 Foundation Announces 2022 Scholarship Recipients, Hosts Luncheon

This year, the Morton 201 Foundation received a record 38 applications for its Pay It Forward Scholarships: 21 from Morton East and 17 from Morton West. As a result of several successful fundraisers, the Foundation was able to award TEN $2,000 scholarships, five at each campus.

Foundation Board members announced the names of their recipients at Senior Awards Night on Thursday, May 12 during ceremonies in the Morton East Chodl Auditorium and Morton West Theater.

Since 2019, the Morton 201 Foundation has awarded 32 scholarships totaling $50,000.

On Wednesday, May 25, the Morton 201 Foundation hosted a luncheon at the Morton West Freshman Academy cafeteria for the scholarship recipients and their families so that they could meet the board members as well as several donors and corporate sponsors who made their scholarships possible. Each recipient received a certificate, a gift card Las Michoacanas Ice Cream and the beautiful rose centerpiece from their table.

After the luncheon, each recipient made a short video describing the impact that receiving a Pay It Forward Scholarship will have on their educational pursuit.
